HSRS Community, As parents and educators, we are trying to processing the horrific attack on Israel ourselves, while trying to be present for the questions that our children are asking about the ongoing tragedy. I'd like to share some resources that may be helpful while having these discussions:
Jewish Education Project will be hosting a webinar on Tuesday at 10am MST. For information and to register, please click here.
On Wednesday evening, our 6th and 7th graders will gather together with Rabbi Finestone. She will lead an age-appropriate lesson about the history of Israel, facts about the region, and have an open forum with the students to ask questions about current events. If you would like your student to opt-out of this discussion, please respond by 5pm on Wednesday.
On Sunday, Rabbi Finestone will lead our teens through a similar session as the 6th/7th graders are receiving on Wednesday. Once again, if you would like your teen to opt-out, please respond by Friday at 5pm.
Hopefully you received the email earlier on Monday that Har Shalom will hold a community vigil on Tuesday, October 10th at 6:00pm. Rabbi Finestone will have a paper on Tuesday about ways to help that she will also be sharing with the 6th and 7th graders on Wednesday and with the teens on Sunday.
As always, please reach out if you have any questions or if you need additional support. B'Shalom, Nicki Shamis, HSRS Director
