From Our Specials News from the Sifriyah (Library) From the article "Delivering for Israel's Children" in Proof, a PJ Library magazine:
Since October 7th, Sifriyat Pijama, PJ Library's sister program in Israel, and their companion program, Maktabat al-Fanoos ("Lantern Library"), serving Arabic speaking communities, both sponsored by the Harold Grinspoon Foundation in collaboration with the Israeli Ministry of Education, have been supporting children displaced by the war with activity kits containing children's books, craft materials, and ideas for games and discussion prompts based on the stories. Thousands of educational activity kits have been distributed at hundreds of evacuation centers over the past 9 months, including special kits for Hanukkah, Tu B'Shvat and Passover. In addition, they've created new web pages in Hebrew and Arabic with additional activities, recorded 20 new audiobooks, and held live virtual programs in Arabic. These programs are having a direct impact helping families deal with the stresses of the war.
