Mitzvah Makers

Har Shalom's Mitzvah Makers program offers an opportunity for every person to give back to their community in a way that works for them. When you sign up to receive Mitzvah Maker emails, once a month you will hear about mitzvot and tikkun olam projects initiated or supported by Har Shalom. 

By joining this email list, you will be the first call when a community member requests help with meals, rides, or donation items like clothing. You can participate in the call to action if it works for you, or you can rely on others to help if the timing isn't right. Our community is only as strong as our supporters, and we know with your help, every one of us is lifted up.

Meal Train for Rachel Cunning

Thank you for supporting Rachel as she recovers from shoulder surgery. Please sign up to deliver a meal during her first weeks post-surgery by clicking here. Rachel may also need help with some basic tasks for the first few weeks. If you can help with rides, chores or a visit, please contact Rachel to make arrangements by emailing rachel.b.cunning@gmail.com. 

Meal Train for Levy Family

Please help support the Levy family as they navigate the loss of a loved one while also caring for parents and a child facing serious health challenges. A warm meal and caring words can do much to lift their hearts at this difficult time. Click here to provide a meal. Meals may be left at the door or you may call ahead to let them know of your arrival time.

Ride Request on Behalf of Refugee Support Group

In the winter months, there is a growing concern for the most vulnerable members of our population.  Here is a small act you can do now to make a big difference in the lives of one refugee family.  As part of the Interfaith Council, Har Shalom is a co-sponsor of one Afghan family. The youngest child attends preschool while her mother attends English classes at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, but they need transportation.  Volunteers are requested for at least one shift in the next two months.
